Consider using the Google Material colour naming convention for colour values#149

A

When I work in Figma, I base my styles on the Google Material design system. Colour styles start at 900 for the darkest and end at 50 for the lightest (i.e., Primary 900, Primary 50). However, this all goes out the window when I start building in WordPress, as the colour values of CoreFramwork are entirely different (i.e. ‘var(–primary-d-5)’).

It would be great if there were an option to establish colours using the Google Material convention, or similar, (e.g., var(–primary-d-900), ‘var(–primary-l-50’), etc.), as this would allow me to preserve the same colour values I use in Figma.

In light of the forthcoming Figma plugin, it might even be worth implementing the Google M3 dynamic colour palette convention for a more seamless crossover from Figma to WordPress (i.e.‘var(–primary-0)’ for the darkest tone and ‘var(–primary-100 for the lightest tone’).

Some designers may prefer other conventions. Either way, it would be ideal if we had the choice of conventions to work with (see the attached Supa Palette screenshot).
